About the BASE Facility The BASE Facility operates in conjunction with the 88-inch Cyclotron at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to provide beams of protons and heavy ions for radiation effects testing. When running, the facility is manned 24-hours a day with additional support on call. Assistance is available for shipping and receiving. Contact us for current hourly rates.
